Lexus’s Mystery Concept Car To Be Unveiled in January 2012

Lexus has recently released the first teaser image of a new concept vehicle to be unveiled in January 2012 at Detroit’s North American International Auto Show.

The new concept model will showcase a new design direction for the brand, developed by its team in California.

At first sight, it seems to be a sports model, signalling something of a departure from the understated styling that Lexus has been known for in recent years, with sharp lines and an aggressive appearance.

As you can see, the teaser image shows little more than a headlamp, an air intake, the edge of the grille and an oversize low-profile tire on an alloy rim. Yes, but what a promising teaser!

Lexus said the concept was designed at Calty, Toyota's longtime design studio in Newport Beach, California.

The model will be officially revealed January 9, on the first press day of the show ahead of its public opening, which takes place January 11.
